Game Master

Job Brief:

At Game Train we are looking for friendly, efficient people who enjoy tabletop gaming. This position entails the setup and assistance of tabletop games for the guests of our establishment. We are looking for passionate game enthusiasts with the knowledge to assist our guests in getting started in their board game experience. They will also need to be speedy in setting up and putting away board games quickly.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up board games requested by guests
  • As required, show guests to their seats & present their selected board game
  • Advise guests on how to start their game
  • Put away game after the guests are done according to “Teardown” instructions
  • Assist Servers in delivery of food and beverages to tables (runners)
  • Assist in sales of add-on items (both F&B and retail items)
  • Assist to clear dishes from table and clean tables as necessary (bussing)
  • Conduct board game inventories as required
  • Receive new game inventory into “Active Play” stock or “Retail Sales” stock
  • Develop new Setup and Teardowns for new game titles
  • Complete “ServSafe” food training and follow all hygiene and health codes
  • Consistently provide excellent guest service
  • As time permits, play & learn rules for new games in the store
  • Work with other members of the staff as a team
  • Attend Game Train Team meals and meetings whenever possible

Requirements:

  • Friendly, and Helpful
  • Team Player
  • Detail Oriented
  • Familiar with rules, mechanics and game-play of many Tabletop Games
  • Quick on their feet
  • Able to count, sort and organize small items such as game pieces, dice and cards
  • Able to stand for 8 or more hours in one shift
  • Able to lift 30 pounds without assistance
  • Basic Math skills
  • High writing proficiency
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible work schedule
