Sous Chef

Job Brief:

At Game Train we are looking for friendly, professional, and effective people who enjoy working with a team. Our Sous Chef is a person with patience and kindness in the face of a fast-paced atmosphere. The Sous Chef’s role will be to assist the Executive Chef with the daily operations of the restaurant kitchen, providing support and direction to kitchen personnel. He/she will ensure that all recipes, food preparations and dishes meet the restaurants commitment to quality. He/she will maintain a safe, orderly, clean efficient and inspired kitchen that is driven by the use of the best quality, seasonal produce. Above all the Sous Chef must be passionate about creating delicious food, and leading a team-oriented environment.


  • Prep and Cook guest orders
  • Assist with Kitchen Deliveries
  • Maintain Food and Drink Inventories and help create orders as appropriate
  • Train new associates as necessary
  • Trained on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques
  • Maintains a clean and organized kitchen
  • Work with other members of the staff as a team
  • Follow all health codes
  • Provide excellent guest service every time


  • High school diploma required, BA encouraged
  • 2-4 years of kitchen experience
  • 2-4 years of restaurant management experience
  • Excellent skills in knife-handling, knowledge in a wide variety of
    cooking techniques and terminology
  • Moderate computer skills (email, word-processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Friendly, Helpful, Patient, and Attentive
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solver, critical thinker
  • Good Communication Skills and Active Listening Skills
  • Able to stand for 8 or more hours in one shift
  • Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
  • Basic English skills
  • Spanish speaking is a plus
  • Flexible work schedule
